Our History and Foundation
Mike Campbell grew up in Virginia Beach and has always felt a strong connection to the local environment. He has more than 15 years of professional tree-climbing experience across Hampton Roads, and he founded Art-is-Tree LLC in 2021 after years of climbing for other companies — tackling increasingly complex challenges and refining his technique along the way. He knows firsthand that safely removing 25-foot sections from a 60-foot oak requires not just strength, but calculated precision and deep expertise.

Art-is-Tree LLC is a family-owned company, and the owner still climbs every job. We do this work because we are skilled at it — reading a tree, setting the right rigging, and bringing it down without damaging the landscape beneath it. Our crew is trained and the company is fully licensed and insured. Crown reductions, crane-assisted removals over structures, and emergency storm cleanup are routine work for us.
