Our History and Foundation
Mike Campbell grew up in Virginia Beach and has always felt a strong connection to the local environment. He has 17 years of professional tree-climbing experience across Hampton Roads, and he founded Art-is-Tree LLC in 2021 after years of climbing for other companies — tackling increasingly complex challenges and refining his technique along the way. He knows firsthand that safely removing 25-foot sections from a 60-foot oak requires not just strength, but calculated precision and deep expertise.
Uncompromising Professionalism & Credentials
We founded this company to provide a tree care service held to truly professional standards. Our commitment is to the health of your trees and the safety of your property. We never compromise on safety protocols, ensuring that every job is executed flawlessly while protecting our crew and your home.

Whether we are pruning ornamental trees, grinding stubborn stumps, or safely bringing down massive pines, our approach remains the same: efficient, clean, and professional work. We are fully equipped for any scale of job. Call (757) 319-5131 for a free estimate or use the contact form and we'll schedule quickly.
17 Years
Owner's Local Experience
A family-owned Virginia Beach tree service, run by a working climber
Art-is-Tree LLC is a family-owned company, and the owner still climbs every job. We do this work because we are skilled at it — reading a tree, setting the right rigging, and bringing it down without damaging the landscape beneath it. That is the difference between a professional tree service and an unlicensed crew with a chainsaw.
Our crew is trained and the company is fully licensed and insured. Crown reductions, crane-assisted removals over structures, and emergency storm cleanup are routine work for us. We treat every property as if it were our own: deliberate rigging, clean cuts, and a site raked and cleared before we leave.

Why Trust Art-is-Tree LLC?
Trained Climbers
Every removal is run by an experienced climber who knows how to rig a tree and take it down safely, not a day-labor crew.
24/7 Storm Response
Tree on your house or blocking the drive? We answer the phone around the clock and get out fast to make it safe.
Free Written Estimates
You get a clear, itemized written estimate up front. No hidden fees, and no work starts until you approve the price.
Clean Site, Every Time
We rake up, haul off the debris, and leave your yard cleaner than we found it. Cleanup is part of the job, not an add-on.

“Mike from Art-is-Tree recently removed my large red oak and did a fantastic job. I wouldn't call anyone else for the job — Mike and his crew made my yard look better than when they started. This is the second tree job we've used them for. …”

“Cannot recommend this company enough! We needed a tree cut down in a very tight space, some trees cut/pruned, and deadwooding in other areas. Michael, Tommy and team took care of us earlier than originally planned. …”

“These guys do fabulous work. Took down a tree near the house power line with no trouble. Plus their cleanup was perfect. I will use them again for sure. Plus they really know about trees — rare.”
